2008 Petaluma Bridgewater Mill Merlot

Still very youthful, this long-term merlot has a wild, briary and slightly meaty bouquet whose dense aromas of dark plums, blackberries, dark cherries and red berry fruits are developing cedary, leathery influences. Richly flavoured, it's fiery and chocolatey, with a dense expression of dark plums, dried herbs, blackberries and assertive oak backed by nuances of briar and currants, finishing with length, firmness and a hint of spirity warmth. It should acquire great complexity.
